Typical responsibilities:
- Conduct a Website Audit – Review the current website design, functionality, and user experience. Identify areas for improvement and gather feedback from users and stakeholders
- Develop a Design Plan – Create mockups for the new design. Ensure the design aligns with the brand’s identity and goals. Plan the integration of new features and functionalities
- Implement Design Changes: Update the website’s layout, color scheme, typography, and graphics. Ensure the design is responsive and works well on various devices and screen sizes
- Add New Features: Integrate new functionalities such as contact forms, e-commerce capabilities, or interactive elements. Test new features to ensure they work seamlessly with the existing site
- Optimize and Test: Perform usability testing to gather feedback on the new design and features
- Optimize the website for speed, SEO, and accessibility. Make necessary adjustments based on testing results and feedback
Desirable skills:
- Proficiency in creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to customize themes and implement design changes. Ability to create responsive designs that work well on various devices
- Experience with WordPress themes and plugins
- Understanding of SEO best practices to improve the website’s search engine ranking
- Ability to conduct usability testing and gather user feedback
- Experience with WordPress’s content management system to organize and manage website content effectively
