Typical responsibilities:

Volunteers will support the delivery of engaging educational sessions for children, focused on the Maltese Honey Bee. Tasks will include:

  • Reading the story A Day in the Life of Katerina the Bee to small groups or classes
  • Guiding children in drawing activities related to the Maltese Honey Bee
  • Playing educational songs from our project and encouraging participation
  • Leading or supporting karaoke sessions using our prepared tracks
  • Delivering a simple and child-friendly presentation about the Maltese Honey Bee
  • Assisting with classroom management, especially during interactive segments
  • Supporting the team in creating an enjoyable and informative experience for all participants

Desirable skills:

  • Good communication skills, especially with children aged 5–10
  • Confident in engaging young audiences
  • Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to lead or assist with simple creative activities (e.g. drawing)
  • Comfortable using basic audio-visual equipment (e.g. playing videos/music)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from organisers
  • A basic understanding of pollinators or interest in environmental education is a plus
