About the Voluntary Organisation:

Ghaqda Madonna tal-Grazzja Banda San Mikiel Zabbar

Ghaqda Madonna tal-Grazzja Banda San Mikiel Zabbar is a Maltese music school and social club. Our primary role is a musical one, for which we provide music tuition free of charge for those who are interested to study music and be part of our band. As an organisation we play in various local events, including the annual feast of the locality and other festivities and also had the opportunity to carry out musical programmes abroad for 12 times. Our band is made up of 75 musicians of all ages and 30 students who aspire to be part of the band. A secondary role of our band club, which is still important is the organisation of social events. The band club premises is a meeting place for locals who engage in activities related to the local village feast and other cultural events. All work is done by volunteers. The band club embraces a number of sub-committees, including: – The Feast decorations and fireworks group; – The youth section; – The cultural events sub-committee; – The band sub-committee; – Media team; and – The sub-committee responsible for the artistic band stage. The aim of these sub-committees is to increase the cultural activities throughout the year and organise the volunteering work.
