Typical responsibilities:

  • The establishment of policies and procedures for the effective management of volunteers
  • The recruitment, selection and induction of volunteers
  • Weekly management of volunteer task assignments and monthly processing of timesheets
  • Ongoing support and supervision of volunteers
  • Development and dissemination of new volunteering opportunities
  • The monitoring and evaluation of volunteer’s activities and volunteer management systems

Desirable skills:

Essential:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to connect and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent written, non verbal and verbal communication
  • Ability to work proactively as part of a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude

Desirable:

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources or relevant
  • Experience with management of volunteer team.
  • An understanding of the principles of voluntary organisations.

The Malta Human Rights Education Centre

The Malta Human Rights Education Centre aims to be a hub for the dissemination of knowledge on human rights principles and ideals in order to bring human rights closer to the very subjects they deal with. Its goals are to bring to light human rights concepts to the public and educate right-holders and duty-bearers, to foster an environment for open discussion whilst bringing in the expert and inspiring voices.
