Audio Technician

Typical responsibilities:

– Set up, test, and operate audio equipment (mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, monitors, playback devices).

– Assist with sound checks before performances.

– Monitor and adjust sound levels during rehearsals and shows.

– Support performers and crew with microphones (fitting, battery changes, troubleshooting).

– Maintain and store audio equipment safely after use.

– Report and log any technical faults or equipment issues.

– Work closely with the exclusive supplier of AV at the theatre.

– Assist in creating or managing sound effects and music playback as required.

Desirable skills:

– Basic knowledge of audio equipment and sound systems.

– Good technical problem-solving skills.

– Ability to focus and stay calm under pressure during live events.

– Teamwork and clear communication.

– Reliability and punctuality.

– Optional however useful: prior experience in live sound mixing, knowledge of audio software, or music production.

Teatru Salesjan

Teatru Salesjan is a community theatre located in Sliema, Malta. It’s part of the Salesian community, which is a Roman Catholic religious order founded by Saint John Bosco. The theatre is not only a space for performing arts but also a hub for cultural and community events. Given its connection to the Salesian order, it often promotes values of education, youth development, and community engagement.
