Typical responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly informal music events and performances to showcase individual or group musical talents.
  • Attend mentoring sessions with the band master to receive guidance on musical skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Musical, interpersonal, and organizational competencies.

Not required, but a bonus:

  • Proficiency in playing a musical brass or wood wind instrument (piano may also be considered).
  • Ability to read sheet music and understand musical notation.
  • Knowledge of music theory and composition.

A BAND CLUB WITH A DIFFERENCE! Każini – or band clubs – are an integral part of Maltese traditional life, with a marching band that accompanies the statue of the patron saint they honour on the day of the feast. Furthermore, they take on social and cultural roles throughout the year through the organisation of events and social guidance. ​ Banda Kunċizzjoni (Immaculate Conception Band Club) is forward-looking and progressive. Our keywords are “Innovation” and “Inclusivity”. The social work we undertake is just as important to us as other aspects of our mission. We remain, however, a band club with a rich history dating to 1979 and are a focal part of life in the Kunċizzjoni area of Ħamrun. Come visit our każin! FREE MUSIC LESSONS Do you wish to pick up an instrument but don’t know where to start? Speak to us! We’ll provide you with free music lessons and even allow you to take the instrument home to practice on. COME AS YOU ARE It doesn’t matter what your origin or background is. We’re happy to talk to you. We contribute to the preservation of Maltese traditions and to the enrichment of our community and the broader cultural landscape.
